Pembrokeshire Avifauna committee in Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Mathew, rare, woodpecker

Dendrocopus minor

A rare occasional visitor. Appears to be even scarcer in the county than the preceding species. Sir Hugh Owen has seen it at Goodwick. It is included by Mr. H. Mathias in his list, but neither this species nor the Great Spotted Woodpecker occurred to Mr. Dix. We have never seen it, although we were always on the look-out for it in our woods.
