Whinchat - 1894

Pratincola rubetra

A summer visitor. Although Mr. Dix wrote that the Whinchat was decidedly rare in his district, which was the north-eastern corner of the county immediately adjoining Cardiganshire, we have found that it is pretty generally distributed, and have seen it on the Precelly Hlils at Rosebush, on Cuffern Mountain, at St. David's, at Stone Hall, where we have seen the nest, &c. &c.
