Gadwall - 1894

Chauhlasmus streperus

An occasional winter visitor ; rare.

The Gadwall is included in Mr. Mathias' list, and is said to have been shot near Pembroke. We have seen a pair stuffed in a case at Orielton, that were taken in the Decoy with other fowl. One in the gallery of British birds at South Kensington Natural History Museum was presented by Lord Cawdor, and came in all likelihood from the lake at Stackpole.
