Redstart - 1949

Phoenicurus phoenicurus phoenicurus

Mathew records only two nests in the county "in an old bee-house at Kilwendeage".  Bertram Lloyd found several nesting pairs in the centre of the county in 1928 and one pair nesting at Haverfordwest, June 1934.  Also seen by him Abercych, July 1924; Picton Park, 10 June 1927; and three singing same place 23 May 1928.  Elsewhere, and on the islands, it is only recorded as a scarce migrant.
