Very scarce migrant, 15 records since 2000.

Western Bonelli's Warbler - 2013 onwards

Following a record in 2011 (see separate entry/discussion topic on Bonelli's vs Western Bonelli's Warbler)

2013 - One on Ramsey 8 - 10 Sept (GM et al) accepted by BBRC. 

2017 - One Skomer 30th – 31 Aug (SP, ES) accepted by BBRC as Bonelli's sp.

2017 - One Skokholm on 24 Sept (TWi, SW, RB et al), accepted by BBRC

2018 - Single Skomer on 16th Sept (ES et al). Unfortunately the bird did not call. Accepted by BBRC as Bonelli's sp.

Radde's Warbler - 2007

One on Skomer on 17th October 2007 was the first record for the island and only the second county record.

Phylloscopus proregulus TELOR PALLAS Vagrant.

1994 - One Strumble Head, 9 Oct (GHR) 3rd county record

1997 - One St Davids Head 25 Oct (RIT et al)

2000 - Singles Bosherston 19-20 Jan (AW) and Penycwm 20 Oct (RHAT, HAW). Two Skomer 15 Nov. First and second records for the Island (MJP & JGB)

2011 - Single Skomer on 29th-30th Oct (DB)

2016 - Singles on Skomer 27 Oct (JWM) & 13 Nov (ES) and at Strumble Head on 30 Oct

Shore Lark - 1992 onwards

1997 - Male at Skomer 24-26 October

1998 - One Castlemartin 7 February - 21 March; three there 21 November to the end of the year (PRH)

1999 - Three remained at Castlemartin until 17 April (PRH)

2003 - Single Pwll Llong Trefin 17 Oct. (GGT).

2005 - Two on heath recreation field Marloes Mere 11-22 January, then one noted on 19 February (MS et al)

2010 - One at Skomer 24th October (DB).

Short-toed Lark (Greater) - 2016

Scarce - previous records listed in Short-toed Lark - 1994

1994 - An adult frequented Dale Airfield 19-25 August (DJA, B&JP, et al).  First mainland record

1995 - Singles Skokholm 10, 13 and 16 October (MB), two birds involved.  One Strumble Head 14027 October (SB et al)

2007: One on Skomer by Pigstone Bay 7th - 8th June 2007, was the first accepted record for the island.

2008: One at Pencarnan on 22nd April, 2008 was only the 3rd record for mainland Pembrokeshire.

2014: One at Martins Haven 19th - 21st September (DJA).

1988 - One Castlemartin ranges 6 June (JB)

1989 - one St Davids Head on 12 June (JWD)

1990 - Male Skomer 4 May and female on 31 May. Single males Skokholm and Llanwnda 27 May and Marloes 30 May.

1991 - Male Trecwn 8 May

1992 - Singles at St Davids golf course 19th April Marloes/Mullock Bridge 6 May, Skomer 14-16 May, and St Davids Head 30 June.

1993 - Singles Skomer 27 May and 27 June

1994 - Singles Dowrog 7 May, Skokholm 5 June and Hylton Woods 9 June

1996 - Singles Skomer 22 May - 6 June, and Hylton Woods 9 June

1997 - Singles Skomer 23 May and Martin's Haven 3 June

2000 - Male Ramsey 13 & 16 May (RH) and female Marloes Mere 18 May (SJS).

2001 - Single females Skomer 13 & 26 May (JGB et al).

2003 - A series of records from Skomer where: one 28 April, a pair 30 April-1 May with a male remaining to 2 May.  Another male seen by day visitors 15 June (JGB)

2006 - There were 3 on Skomer 14-18 May, all were females or imm males; 2 remained 19th-20th and a single bird 22nd-23rd and 25th (JGB).

2008 -  A female on skomer 21-26 May (D Boyle) was the only accepted record

2009 - An immature male on Skomer on 14th-15th May (DB et al). Accepted WRP.

2010 - Rare summer visitor. Male at Bosherston on 25th May (BH). A pair on Skomer 7th May (T. Birkhead). All accepted by WRP

2012 - A first year or female St Davids Head on 8th May (MYP) was the only record accepted by WRP.

2014 - A male at St. Davids Head on 25th May was the only record (MYP). Accepted by WRP

2015 - On Skomer, at least four possibly five birds 11th & 12th May, with one remaining until 13th (JWM et al). Accepted WRP.

2016 - A female at Marloes Mere 6th – 7th May (DJA et al), a male at Dinas Cross 6th July (SEB) and on Skokholm on 11th May (GE, RB et al). Accepted WRP.

Lesser-spotted Woodpecker - 2000 onwards

Dendrocopus minor  - Breeding resident.                  

2000 - Reported from Llys y fran, Gelly, Millin, Sealyham, Crosswell, Wyndrush and Martletwy, no proof of breeding.

2001 - Reported from 9 sites with breeding at Felindre Farchog and 2 singing males at Gelly.

2002 - Two singing males Gelly and one Felindre Farchog 9 April. Only other records Llanmill 30 Sept, Narberth 18 Oct and Orielton 25 Nov.

2003 - Singles Millin Pill 4 Jan, Blackpool Mill 14 Feb, Orielton 30 May, Minwear Wood 12 July, a pair Llawhaden 5 Feb, 2 pairs probably bred Gelly.

2004 - Singles Blackpool Mill 5 March, Sealyham 31 July, Caldey Island 7 Nov, Hilton Woods 13 June and 23 Nov.    

2005 - 2 pairs probably bred Gelly. up to 3 birds seen Millin 13 Jan-8 Feb, pair seen Craig Y Borian in Sept. Singles Cilgerran 8 Feb, 10 April and 28 June, Narbeth 2 Mar, Rhodiad 16 Oct.

2006 - Singles Clarbeston Road 31 Jan, Nr Cunnigar 12 Feb, Lampeter Vale 14 Feb, Blackhill 11 March and Cilgerran Gorge 30 March. A pair probably bred in the Gelly area.

2007 - Reported from four sites. Singles at: Ffynone on 21 Jan., Lamphey on 20 Feb., at Gelly February — March & a single noted here in December. and two at Withybush Woods on 31 March.

2008 - All records were: one heard at Gelly February - March, a male heard calling and drumming at Picton on 9 April, noted here also on 10 April, 11 May & 30 May, a female at Millin Pill on 2 Feb. and one Cilgerran Gorge on 18 Sept.

2009 - Only one record this year of a juvenile bird near Llandilo 20 July — 28 Aug (PJ).

2010 - There were only three records: at Landshipping on 23 April, at Pengelli Forest on 11 May and at Llandilo on 5 Sept (same site as last year’s record).

2011 - Singles at Blackpool Mill 3 Feb, Trecwn on 12 April and Llandilo 16 Nov

2012 - Just four records, singles at Heritage Park on 18 Jan, Pengelli on 14 March, Llawhaden on 29 March and Redberth on 5 Sept.

2014 - Two records received of singles at Sam’s Wood on 13 Jan and at Picton Castle on 9 April

2018 - Single drumming at Ty Canol on 5 May.
